Have you ever been so interested in something to the point where it seems that nothing else exists? Well I have. I was reading Redbook magazine when I ran accross an article that caught my eye. The name of the article is "The Divine Sisterhood of Jada Pinkett Smith." The article mainly talks about Smith's life. It also gives an overview on how she juggles being a caring woman, a great friend, and a loving wife. Jada Pinkett Smith is a very caring woman. She is concerned about the society our young people, especially young women, are being brought up in. We all know that violence is rapidly growing in the world today, and something needs to be done about it. Jada spearheads the organization "Don't Sell Bodies." This organization was designed to fight human trafficking. She also teamed with Salma Hayek Pinault on Gucci's "Chime for Change" campaign. It raises awareness about things like education, health, and justice for women. Jada has two children in which she cannot be with twenty-four-seven. She says, "It is scary not knowing where your children are in today's world." So she recently invested in a company called Bipper. This company created the "bSafe" app. "With the push of a button on a smartphone, it can reach out to key contacts, call the police, record the user's surroundings, and use GPS to track the user's location," says Smith. Jada has done quite a bit to help put a stop to violence; but a caring woman is just one of her many personalities. Another character trait of Jada Pinkett Smith, that we don't get to see much, is her ability to be a great friend. Jada stated in the article that her friends define her, and she is always real with them. I think that being real and trustworthy are some key factors of a strong friendship. One thing Jada stated in the article was that people don't have expextations for their friends, but I strongly disagree. As a friend, you definately have expectations. One expectation is to be supportive of your friend. Be there when he or she needs you. Another thing that is expected of a friend is loyalty. Friends do not backstab one another. Honesty is another expectation of a friend. I mean, the list could go on and on. I just cannot see how you could have a friend with no expectations. Jada also stated that all relationships need work. Now this is a statement that I can agree with. I think the main reason Jada Pinkett smith has so many close friends is because of something she told a reporter. She said, "I do not cut off friends when they don't make me happy." Let's be real, friends will let you down and make you angry. That is no cause for pushing them away, which brings me to my next point... her husband! Besides being a caring woman and a great friend, Jada Pinkett Smith is also a loving wife. She is married to will Smith and has been for fifteen years. Jada says their relationship is unbreakable. One reason they have such a solid relationship is because Jada does not let her friends interfere with their marriage. Don't get me wrong, Jada needs her friends' opinion on lots of things but her marriage is not one. She feels that if her and Will are having problems, they should be able to talk to one another about it. I too think that there is no need for outsiders. Another reason I believe her marriage is so strong is because her and Will do not let the media effect them.Tabloids have asked questions like, "Have they hit a rocky patch?" "Are they getting divorced?" "Do they have some kind of open arrangement?" That last question was kind of ridiculous, but I can understand why they would ask that question. Jada made a comment earlier in April saying, "I've always told Will, 'You can do whatever you want as long as you can look at yourself in the mirror and be okay.'" I totally disagree with this statement simply because most men don't think before they act. Some men can go out and do the most frivilous things, but they won't give it any thought untill the next day. Then on the other hand, you have those men that just do not care. Those are the type of men who can cheat on you and be okay with themselves. I'm not saying that Will is one of those type of guys, but I would not be open to that kind of relationship. As you can see, Jada Pinkett Smith is a very concerned woman, an awesome friend, and an amazing wife. She is also a woman with many different personalities. She would be an amazing role model, andshe has a lot going for herself. Not only that, but she is taking care of her two beautiful children. Jada Pinkett Smith is fourty-one years old and enjoying life while helping others. I hope to be like her one day
